Benefits of Membership |
We thank the members of the Tennessee Academy of Ophthalmology (TNAO) for their loyalty and support. If you are a practicing ophthalmologist and are not yet a member of the TNAO, the Officers and Directors invite you to become a member.
Legislative Liaison - TNAO and its lobbyists monitor legislation and respond to any signals that may mean an assault on the health and safety of the citizens of Tennessee; build coalitions to accomplish our legislative missives; establish a statewide grassroots program to educate members on the importance of maintaining personal relationships with local legislators; educate the public on the designation of an Eye MD and maintain and build political action committee funds.
OMIC Malpractice Insurance - Through a cooperative agreement, OMIC insurance is available through the TNAO for a substantial discount. The TNAO member discount has increased significantly, offering a savings of thousands of dollars. The savings alone can easily recoup TNAO's membership dues many times over. Contact Deena Mader at OMIC. Non-members are not eligible for discounts.
Coding Seminars - Each year the TNAO sponsors a coding seminar with instructors from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) so the information is always timely and accurate. Members and their staff receive discounted registration fees with an additional 10% discount with five or more attendees. Non-members and their staff are not eligible for the initial discount.
Educational Programs - Scientific CME and practice management meetings as well as ophthalmology personnel education (technical and front office) continue to be a priority. Annual meetings are co-sponsored with the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology. Non-members pay up to twice the member rate for educational meetings.
Communication - Our members receive the latest news on meetings, legislative activity and organizational happenings.
