Children's Eye Care in Public School  Tennessee Code Annotated 49-6-5004

Before entering public schools, nursery schools, kindergartens, preschools and/or child care facilities, Tennessee children are encouraged to have an eye screening.  Such screening/exams can be performed by ophthalmologists, optometrists, pediatricians, school nurses, or other health care professionals and screening programs such as Prevent Blindness-Tennessee.  Copies of the screening report shall be provided to the parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
